Penang Players Presents

In Alice Gerstenberg’s Overtones, the unconscious is dramatised on stage through Harriet and Margaret, both cultured and refined selves, while Hetty and Maggie represent the wild, primitive desires of these same women. It embodies a disparate part of the characters’ personality and is a unique convention celebrating womanhood. With Gerstenberg’s humourous and witty writing creating an interesting dialogue, this influential work is still enjoying successful runs across the globe today. A performance not to be missed!

The Gallery

The Gallery will feature works on ‘Framing Women’ by artists Regina Ibrahim, Howard Jin Ho Tan and May Leong.
